Now in my defence James Blunt is number one this week as our new arrival baby Kameron loves a bit of Bluntie especially the song ‘1973′. Whitesnake are picking up plays after getting the excellent ‘30th Anniversary’ 3-CD set which if you have no ‘Snake on CD this is an excellent starting point. The Josh Goforth Band – who may you ask? Well they are a very talented bluegrass band who appeared recently at the Wee Spoon Festival in Fife and this CD my dad kindly leant to me.

Blue Öyster Cult and Triumph both after playing some classics by them – you can’t beet songs like ‘In Thee’, ‘Black Blade’ and ‘Allied Forces’. AOR band Urban Tale have only done one album which is a harmony filled treat and worth tracking down a copy if you can. Still loving Brother Firetribe and the Poodles, both excellent modern bands who meld the best of 80’s hard rock with modern production values.

Robin George great songs and top man as he has donated loads of CD’s to help my ongoing fundraising for the Nordoff-Robbins charity and the Donna Louise Trust. Over £50 raised so far between the two charities. Finally a bit of Christian rock with the legendary Petra. Their lyrics can get a bit too preachy for my tastes at times but their ability to pen catchy tunes is second to none.
