Stoke City 2-1 Aston Villa

After going 1-0 down in the first half and seeing the team lose their way it was great to see Tony Pulis back in the dug out (his mum sadly passed away today) to inspire a comeback with goals from Kenwyne Jones and Robert Huth getting a late winner. So vital to get our first win of the season with West Ham up next at the Britannia stadium. Jermaine Pennant looked lively enough although he seems to have the Spanish knack of diving 😉 Marc Wilson played some lovely passes but seemed to fade later on. Eidur Gudjohnsen will have to wait another day to make his Stoke bow.

Liam Lawrence is finally a Pompey player having completed an emergency loan ahead of a permanent transfer in January. Good luck to a vital part of our promotion!
