Well Read 2011

There is All Booked Up where the idea is to raise funds for two charities – Beating Bowel Cancer and Kidney Research UK – by auctioning off various signed or unique items donated by authors via EBay.

In addition myself and my daughter can be sponsored to read books with all funds going to Surrey Young Carers. It is like the sponsored reads we used to do at school. It can be per book; a set amount or you can sponsor us to read a book of your choice.

(This will run from December 1st 2010 until 31st December 2011)

I am currently reading:

‘Marching To The Fault Line’ (book on the 1984 miners strike – very interesting read although Arthur Scargill refused to be interviewed for the book)

‘Agent Zig Zag’ by Ben Macintrye

‘The First Rule’ by Robert Crais (first book I have read by this author. Fast paced thriller meets crime, similar to Lee Child but not quite as good)

Finished reading:

1. ‘Dead Like You’ by Peter James (these crime novels set in Brighton are simply wonderful. Go some way to fill the void left by ‘Rebus’)

My daughter is currently reading:

‘Justin Bieber’ My Story’ by Justin Bieber (how can he write his life story at just sixteen???)

Finished reading:

1. ‘Underworld’ by Cathy Macphail (She loved this one – another vampire based novel. I keep telling her read Stephen King’s ‘Salems Lot’, now that is a proper vampire novel)
