Waking The Witch news

Hi Everybody.

Just to let you know what’s happening with us…

You’ll need to be quick off the mark with this one, to catch Jools Parker’s new band,

“The Blue Sands” as they perform an exclusive show in Nottinghamshire on November 2nd 2011.

Jools brings the band to Lowdham to preview their stunning new album, ‘A Place of Whispers.’ (Parade 102)

Tickets and information are available via this link.

Patsy was recently invited to record a song for a compilation album of Bob

Dylan songs, ‘Younger than that Now’, produced to raise funds for Oxfam.

Featuring songs from many great folk artists, including Christine Collister,

Martin Simpson, Julie Matthews, Clive Gregson, Dave Burland, Steve Tilston

etc, Patsy’s version of ‘One More Cup of Coffee’ has received excellent

reviews, Simon Jones for Froots writes: ‘A unique, almost spaced but addictive

rendering – she gets right inside the song and turns it into a blues for

sensitive souls with a vocal that’s half spoken and half seduction.’

The track can be downloaded from Amazon for just 69p by following the link

below and there’s a short sample from it to listen to there too:

Patsy and Becky are looking forward to their tour in the spring when both of

them will be releasing their new albums.

Patsy’s ‘Stories of Angels & Guitars’ (Tomorrow Records) will be available

from 16th January, featuring ten new songs with guest appearances from Hugh

Whitaker (the Housemartins) on drums and Jon Short on double bass.

Becky’s album “Dandelion,” to be released early 2012, is “a collection of songs written over the last three years and recorded with the help of her very talented friends.”

Pats and Bex will be appearing at the following venues throughout the UK singing some Waking the Witch songs, as well as material from the new albums.
