Lambert still in charge as not much happening at Stoke yet…

Nearly a week after the season finished and Stoke City have been silent over what is happening regarding manager Paul Lambert’s position. Will he be in charge next season? Or are the club looking at recent managers who have become available, namely David Moyes and Sam Allardyce. Some Stoke supporters think we could even have Tony Pulis back for a third spell following Middlesboro’s failure to gain promotion via the play-offs.

No players have left yet, bar the loanees – Zouma and Staffy returning back to their parent clubs and Lambert was singing the praises of Bojan who returned to the club after his season long loan. Bojan could be a key player in the Championship for us next season. Shakiri has been linked with a move to Spurs and he has said he wants Champion league football next season. Wimmer could also be leaving soon back to Germany, although the club would have to take a big hit on his transfer fee – we’d be lucky to get near £5m for the £18m we paid for him last summer.

Erik Pieters has said he wants to stay at the club next season, which is good news as along with Bauer and Shawcross will give us a solid defence. Hopefully Martins Indi will stay as well. Although if another club bid for any of these players they could still leave.

The summer transfer window is now open until 17:00 on 9 August for Premier League clubs and Stoke, like other EFL clubs, can sign players until 31 August, although they cannot sell or loan players to PL clubs after 9 August.
