Match of the Week – Hartlepool Utd v Kidsgrove Athletic

Start of a regular feature, choosing a match that is a bit different. This weekend Kidsgrove Athletic (average home attendance 134) face an away trip to Hartlepool United (average home attendance 3,301) in the fourth qualifying round of FA Cup. The winner gets a place in the first round proper – something Kidsgrove have never achieved to date.

Stoke fans will remember Hartlepool beating us 2-0 in the FA Cup third round back in 2009. Not one of our better years in the FA Cup!

Be great to see Kidsgrove progress, however I think Hartlepool’s higher league status (they are currently eighth in the Nation League) will see them win 3-1.

  1. If you need a Slough Town reporter, look no further 😉👍. Slough are away to Eastbourne Borough tomorrow. Hoping that we can achieve the 1st Rd Proper for the 2nd consecutive year and claim the £25k in prize money!!
