Wilson heads to Bournemouth

Marc Wilson has left the club to sign for Premier League rivals Bournemouth today for an undisclosed fee. With injury and falling down the pecking order he hardly featured last season. His recent Twitter outbursts won’t have helped either.

Hopefully we will sign a centre back before deadline day. No movement on a striker yet.

Youngsters George Waring and Choulay have joined League One side Shrewsbury Town on loan until January.

The under 23’s side started their season in the Premier League 2 with a 3-0 defeat to West Ham. New signing Ryan Sweeney scored an own goal.

A great away win after three consecutive 3-0 defeats and no goals scored in the last four league games. Goals from Giannelli Imbula (his first for Stoke and only his second game fur us), Ibrahim Afellay and Joselu. We did however lose Muniesa and Glenn Johnson to injury with Teixeira on as a sub for Muniesa at HT. Hopefully with the international break a chance for the injured players to recover. We currently have three fit defenders after today’s game!

Great news in Bojan signing a new contract for another 4 1/2 years.

Opening fixture of the new season is…Liverpool!

You couldn’t make it up as we start the 2016/17 Premier League season against Liverpool at home. Just in case you have forgotten we beat them 6-1 at home at the end of last season J Our first away fixture is Tottenham who we beat away in the same fixture last season. Our final away game is Crystal Palace and we finish the season with a home game against West Ham.

Opening day fixtures see Premiership newboys Bournemouth home to Aston Villa, their fans will like that one; Watford face a tricky trip to Everton and Norwich host Crystal Palace, not an easy fixture given how well Palace have done since Alan Pardew took over.
