Stoke City have completed the signing of Swansea City midfielder Sam Clucas for an undisclosed fee. Clucas has signed a four-year contract and is seventh acquisition of the summer, following permanent signings of Peter Etebo, Benik Afobe, Adam Federici, James McClean, Tom Ince and Ashley Williams on loan.

Although the transfer window has now closed for permanent signings Stoke can still make loan signings and sell to European clubs until the end of August.

Stoke City have pulled off a couple of impressive loan signings with Derby County keeper Lee Grant joining on loan until January 3 and Man City striker Wilfried Bony joining on a season long loan. Bony proved a massive hit with Swansea City before joining Man City in January 2015. He scored an impressive 26 goals for Swansea in 54 Premier League appearances.

He’s happy to be here:

Thank You to all the MCFC fans for the support & hello to @stokecity fans I look forward to a great season together

Brek Shea poised to join Orlando City

Seems Brek Shea is set to join Orlando City on a permanent deal shortly. He has not really shown much for us and has just returned from a so-so loan spell at Birmingham City. Hopefully we can get shot of Maurice Edu who is currently on loan with MLS side Philadelphia Union. Quite possibly the worst signing by Pulis!

With the January transfer window soon not sure how much, if any, funds Mark Hughes will be given. Peter Crouch and Glen Whelan are both out of contract in the summer and could move in January if they are not offered or sign new deals. Whelan has already been linked to Swansea City and Crouch to Palace and QPR.

Stoke City 2-1 Swansea City

Begovic; Bardsley, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters; Nzonzi, Adam, Diouf, Ireland, Moses; Crouch

Subs: Sorensen, Muniesa, Walters, Cameron, Sidwell, Assaidi, Bojan

A good win for us after a fairly lethargic first half performance which saw Shawcross give away a penalty for shirt tugging. To be fair he has been heading for a booking all season for this! Mind you other players in other teams do this week in, week out too. Charlie Adam got the equaliser from the penalty spot after Victor Moses was fouled in the box (Swansea manager Gary Monk accused Moses of diving after the match). Super Jon Walters bagged the winner and a deserved three points for us. Good to see Geoff Cameron in midfield in the second half and he had a great game.

Few injury concerns ahead of next week’s game away at Southampton including Moses, Arnie and Bardsley – hopefully Whelan will be back.

Sunderland 3-1 Stoke City

Poor defensively again and Charlie Adam got our goal which did even the game out for awhile at 1-1. Really need to get back to a Pulis like defence and stop these lapses of concentration which cost us there and at QPR away. Could see Huth back in place of Wilson if Huth is fit enough.

Worrying the amount of injuries we pick up under Mark Hughes though with Victor Moses off injured and really hope he is back, along with Diouf before our next game. Also in the physio room currently are Geoff Cameron and a long term injury to Peter Odemwingie.

Swansea next at home after the international break and that is a fixture we must get at the very least a draw from.

Stoke City 1-1 Swansea City

Despite awful weather conditions the game still went ahead and a good attendance at over 24,000, considering the weather conditions.

Peter Crouch found the net again after knocking in the rebounded shot from Peter Odemwingie. He’s settling in well and John Guedetti had a twenty minute run out. Hopefully Robert Huth is back very soon as we are missing him at the back.

Oh look a weekend off due to the FA Cup then Man City away!

Genoa friendly

The August 10th friendly looks set to be Genoa and not Bologna as first rumoured.

Matthew Lund has signed a two year contract with Rochdale after being released by us this summer.

Latest player being linked to us is Danny Rose of Spurs who had a good season on loan at Sunderland.

Kenwyne Jones to Swansea City could be back on and Cameron Jerome to Crystal Palace possibly?
